Overview

Switching accounting software often feels risky. Many companies think that the switch can only be made at the end of the fiscal year—but that’s not true. NoCFO handles the entire transition for you: once you provide us with your previous accounting data, we’ll take care of the import, review, and implementation. You’ll be up and running with NoCFO software in a matter of days, not months—you can start at any time during the fiscal year.

Step 1: Upload your data

Timeline: Before the transition begins

Here’s how to get started: upload your data to the “Files” tab.

  1. Final financial statements for the most recent fiscal year: income statement and balance sheet with chart of accounts detail, as a PDF or CSV file.

  2. If you’re switching in the middle of a fiscal year: upload the general ledger and journal for the current fiscal year from the start of the fiscal year up to the migration date. It is also recommended to upload the balance sheet and income statement for the current fiscal year, broken down by account, up to the transition date.

For example:
2025: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, General Ledger, and Journal.
2026 (through the present): Income Statement, Balance Sheet, General Ledger, and Journal.

Why switching in the middle of a fiscal year is possible

Many companies believe that switching is only possible at the start of a new fiscal year. This is a myth. NoCFO imports the opening balances and entries for the current fiscal year into the system, ensuring that your accounting remains consistent.

Step 2: Import and Review

Who handles this: A NoCFO expert
Timeline: Within 2–3 business days of receiving the data

In this step, NoCFO:

  • Sets up the chart of accounts in the system while preserving your account structure

  • Imports opening balances based on your financial statements

  • Reconcile the imported data with your original financial statements before go-live

You do not need to do anything at this stage. We will confirm receipt of the data and notify you when the import is complete.

Step 3: Schedule a kickoff meeting

Once the verification is complete, you’ll receive a notification that your data has been successfully imported, and you can schedule a kickoff meeting at a time that works for you. A direct booking link is included so you can schedule the kickoff meeting right away.

Step 4: Kickoff Meeting

Schedule: Within one week of the data import (depending on the schedule)

During this meeting, we’ll go over everything and get you fully up and running with NoCFO.
