VAT return directly from NoCFO (automatic)
Last updated 17 days ago
You can submit your VAT return directly to the Tax Administration from NoCFO without logging into OmaVero separately. This requires ordering a one-time certificate from the Tax Administration's API service.
Note for accounting firms: If you use NoCFO as an accounting firm, contact info@nocfo.io before activating this. You will receive separate setup instructions.
Step 1 — Order a certificate from the Tax Administration
Go to the Tax Administration's certificate service at vero.fi/varmennepalvelu and log in. Submit an API application by selecting "Vero API (Web service)".
Note: only a person with the right to sign for the company can submit this application.
Once the application has been submitted, order the certificate by selecting "Tiedon tuottaja (Web service)" and give the certificate a description. Fill in the contact person's details — no special technical skills are needed, since the Tax Administration sends instructions by email.

Step 2 — Add the transfer credentials to NoCFO
The Tax Administration sends the transfer credentials to the technical contact person by secure email. Once the credentials have arrived, go to Settings → Bank connections and integrations → Tax reporting in NoCFO and enter the transfer ID and the one-time password. Checking the credentials may take a moment — you'll get a confirmation once the certificate has been added successfully.
Step 3 — Submit the VAT return
Go to the VAT Periods tab
Open the period to be reported and click "Report VAT period"
Select "Send data to the Tax Administration"
Add the contact person's name and phone number in the format +358...
Check the return details and submit
According to the Tax Administration, it may take up to two days for the reported information to appear in OmaVero.
Paying VAT
After a successful submission, NoCFO creates a purchase invoice in the Invoices section for paying the VAT.
If submitting the return doesn't work, contact info@nocfo.io.
