Luca – AI assistant
Last updated 10 days ago
Luca is NoCFO's built-in AI assistant, available via the Ask Luca button in the app header. It opens as a chat panel on the right side and can answer questions about your company's financial situation, potential savings, and tax and legal obligations — based directly on your own bookkeeping data.
Starting a conversation
Click Ask Luca in the header. The panel that opens offers ready-made starter prompts, for example:
How is my company doing? – a clear picture of your company's situation
Biggest savings opportunities – understand your biggest costs and find savings
Taxes, law and compliance – VAT, filings and how the rules apply to your company
You can also type your own question into the "Ask Luca anything" field.
AI can make mistakes — double-check important answers.
Settings (Settings → Luca → Settings)
The Company profile is a short (max 250-word) description of your company — what it does, its industry, size, and key facts. This description:
is used by Luca as background context for its answers
is shared with all users of the company
is read-only for Luca (Luca cannot edit it itself)
is kept separate from what Luca learns about you personally
Connections (Settings → Luca → Connections)
Here you can connect external tools (MCP servers) that Luca can use directly in conversations. Connections are personal — they are not visible to other users of the company.
Providers available at the time of writing:
Kravia (API key) – connects Kravia's debt collection API, so Luca can register invoices, read collection status, and manage creditors on your behalf.
Custom MCP server (OAuth or a static API token/key) – connect any MCP server by URL.
You can disable a connection, which hides it from Luca without deleting it entirely.
Usage and credits (Settings → Luca → Usage)
Using Luca consumes credits. Credits are shared across all users of the business, not personal. The Usage page shows your credits in these parts:
Plan credits are included in your subscription. They start over at the beginning of each billing period.
Luca add-on credits appear if your subscription includes the paid Luca add-on.
Credit balance holds credits you have bought or received from NoCFO. The balance is used after plan credits. Balance credits do not expire and do not renew on their own.
Overage shows usage beyond these. Overage only builds up if pay-as-you-go billing is allowed.
The page also shows consumption history and the current billing period.
Buying credits
When you need more credits, you can buy a one-time credit pack. A pack costs less than pay-as-you-go billing, and the bigger the pack, the lower the price per credit.
On the Usage page, click Buy more credits.
Choose a pack: 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 credits. Each pack shows its price, its discount compared with the pay-as-you-go price, and the price per 100 credits.
Check the order summary and pay. VAT is added at payment.
The credits are added to the business's credit balance right away. The purchase is a one-time payment for the whole business and does not renew automatically.
Pay-as-you-go billing
Pay-as-you-go billing decides what happens once plan credits, Luca add-on credits and the credit balance are used up:
Allowed: Luca keeps working, and the extra usage is billed at the end of the billing period.
Not allowed: Luca stops until you buy more credits or allow pay-as-you-go billing.
Pay-as-you-go billing always requires the business's separate consent. The first time the business runs out of credits, NoCFO asks whether to allow pay-as-you-go billing. This also applies to businesses that have been billed for overage before. You can change the choice at any time under Pay-as-you-go billing on the Usage page.
Note: Pay-as-you-go billing only works if a payment method has been added to the subscription.
Credit limit
You can set a credit limit for the business with Edit limit. The limit is a hard cap on all credits the business can consume in a period: plan credits, balance and overage together. Once the limit is reached, Luca stops working until the period resets.
